Azhagiya Tamil Magan is a 2007 Tamil action thriller film directed by Bharathan. It stars Vijay with Shriya Saran, Namitha and Sayaji Shinde. Music by A. R. Rahman. It was released on 8 November 2007 (Diwali).
Guru, an athlete and MBA student, falls in love with Abhinaya, the daughter of a wealthy businessman, and both families bless the match. He then begins having premonitions of disturbing events that come true, which a psychiatrist diagnoses as extrasensory perception. When Guru foresees himself stabbing Abhi, he flees to Mumbai to protect her, only to run into Prasad, a smooth hustler who looks exactly like him and who seizes the chance to take Guru's place in Chennai.
Vijay plays both the gentle, clairvoyant Guru and his amoral look-alike Prasad, marking his first dual role. The grey-shaded Prasad gave him a rare chance to play a negative character.
