Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay won cheers at the Vijayawada Utsav 2.0 on Tuesday night, October 13, 2026, by addressing the crowd in Telugu. He shared the stage with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the Utsav grounds at Punnami Ghat on the banks of the Krishna, where the two leaders watched the festival’s art and cultural performances.
Vijay spoke for a few minutes. According to reports of the speech, he:
He also conveyed Navaratri greetings to the people.
Naidu said Vijay is working for Tamil Nadu’s development and had become Chief Minister within two years of founding his party. He said that though the states are different, their aim is the same, and that every state must develop for the nation to progress.
Vijayawada Utsav is a cultural festival held in the city during Dasara Navaratri, with music, dance and art performances. This is its second edition. A delegation of Andhra Pradesh MPs had called on Vijay in Chennai on October 6 to invite him to the Utsav and the Dasara celebrations at the Kanaka Durga temple.
The Utsav closed a full day in Vijayawada — prayers at Indrakeeladri, talks with Naidu on Krishna water and river linking, and a public appearance in Telugu. Vijay was scheduled to fly back to Chennai the same night. The visit set a warm, cooperative tone for relations between Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
