In the presence of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, engineering major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Tamil Nadu government at the Secretariat on Thursday, June 4, 2026.
It was the first major investment agreement signed under the new government, coming within four weeks of the swearing-in and after the Chief Minister’s round of meetings with industry leaders in May. L&T is one of India’s largest engineering and construction groups, and a commitment of this size signals confidence in the State’s new administration.
The same day, the Chief Minister met Thiagarajar Mills’ K. Hari Thiagarajan and IIT Madras director Prof. V. Kamakoti, and reviewed the Natural Resources Department.
